Local Search & Google Business Profile Management

Be found where people actually look

Your Google Business Profile decides whether someone finds you on Maps — and it feeds the answers AI assistants give about your business. We claim, correct and manage listings, so the picture they see is accurate, complete and current.

Ask About Your Listing

What we look after

Most listings are set up once and then never touched. Meanwhile the business moves, the hours change, staff leave, and the photos age.

Claiming and verification

Getting the profile claimed by the right account and verified, so you can actually control what appears.

Accuracy and completeness

Categories, services, service areas, hours, attributes and contact details — the fields that decide whether you show up for the right searches.

Reviews

A simple process for asking, plus management of responses. Reviews are the strongest signal an independent business has.

Photos and updates

Keeping the images representative of the business as it is now, not as it was five years ago.

Clean-up and repair

Duplicates, incorrect addresses, unverified and suspended listings — the messy situations that quietly cost you customers.

Where it connects to the rest

Listing data should agree with your website and your other citations. We already handle both, so consistency is not a coordination problem.

Why this matters more than it used to

Two things have changed. Search results increasingly show a map and a panel of nearby businesses before they show a list of websites — so a business that is absent from that panel is invisible at the moment of decision, however good its website is.

And AI assistants now answer questions like "who should I hire for this near me?" by drawing on listings, addresses, categories and reviews. A profile that is complete and consistent gives them something accurate to repeat. One that says you are in the wrong city, or lists services you stopped offering, gives them a reason to recommend someone else.

Neither of those is solved by website alone. Both are solved by the listing.

What we manage today

  • ✓ A Bellingham immigration law practice — website, Google Business Profile and an ongoing SEO/GEO improvement program.
  • ✓ A Seattle dermatology clinic — including profiles for individual practitioners alongside the practice itself.
  • ✓ Other client locations in retail, commercial interiors and healthcare, alongside PortNW's own listing.

Client names are used with permission. Listings are managed under the client's own account ownership — access is theirs, not ours.

Questions we get asked

What is a Google Business Profile, and do I need one? +

It is the listing that appears when someone searches your business name or looks for what you do nearby — the map pin, hours, phone number, photos, services and reviews all live there. If you serve customers in a place, it is usually the most visible thing you own about your business, and it is free to claim.

I already have a website. Is that not enough? +

The two do different jobs. Your website is where you make your case; the profile is how people find you and decide whether to tap through. Google Maps and the AI assistants both lean heavily on profile data, which is why a well-managed listing can outperform a good website that nobody finds.

Can you fix a listing that is wrong, duplicated or suspended? +

Often, yes. Wrong addresses and hours, duplicate listings, unverified profiles and photos that no longer represent the business are the usual problems; suspensions can be appealed. We will tell you honestly what is recoverable before you commit to anything.

What about reviews? +

We help you set up a simple, repeatable way to ask for them — the difficulty is rarely the mechanism, it is doing it consistently — and we can manage responses on your behalf. We do not write fake reviews, buy them, or filter out negative ones; that is how profiles get suspended or penalised.

How long before we see a difference? +

Listing corrections can appear within days. Movement in the map results is slower and depends on your reviews, your competition and how far away the searcher is, so we treat it as a long game rather than a switch.
