Search & Local Visibility · Olympia, WA
SEO in Olympia, WA
Being found by the people already looking for what you sell: in Google, in the map results, and increasingly in whatever an AI assistant tells them. We do the technical work, keep your listings accurate, and make sure all of it says the same thing.
Ask for a Search ReviewWhat we actually do
Search visibility is four different jobs wearing one name. Most businesses are told they need the expensive one when they need a cheaper one first.
Technical SEO
Crawlability, page speed, canonical tags, structured data, redirects and the crawl waste that quietly buries good pages. This is the part we do best, because we build the sites too.
On-page and content
Page titles that match what people search, service pages that answer the question the visitor actually arrived with, and internal linking that tells a search engine which pages matter.
Local search and listings
Your Google Business Profile, categories, services, hours, photos, attributes and reviews, is usually the single biggest lever for a South Sound business. We manage profiles as a service in their own right, not as an afterthought.
AI search (GEO/AEO)
ChatGPT, Google’s AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot do not rank pages. They assemble an answer from your listings, structured data, reviews and content. We make sure all four say the same accurate thing.
Reviews and reputation
Reviews are a ranking input and a conversion input at the same time. We help you ask for them cleanly, respond to them properly, and put them where they do some good.
Measurement that means something
Impressions, positions, calls, forms and bookings: reported in plain language, with the unglamorous findings included. If something we did made no difference, you will read that too.
How local search actually works here
A homeowner in Lacey searching for a plumber is not typing anything as considered as "plumber Lacey WA". They type "plumber near me", or "emergency plumber", or a company name they half remember. That search never reaches a normal result page. It lands in the map results, which are decided mostly by three things: how close your business is to the searcher, how relevant and complete your profile looks, and how your reviews compare.
This is why we are blunt with local businesses about priorities. If your Google Business Profile is unclaimed, half-empty or contradicts your own website, no amount of work on your homepage will fix your visibility. The listing is the shopfront; the website is what people find once they walk in. We fix them in that order.
Further out, where a consultancy in Tumwater sells to King County, or a manufacturer in Shelton competing nationally, the game changes and the website carries more of the weight. Same discipline, different target.
Being the answer, not just a result
More of your customers now start somewhere else: they ask an AI assistant, get a short list of names, and never see a search results page at all. Those systems do not read your site the way a person does. They assemble an answer from whatever they can find and trust: your business listings, the structured data on your site, your reviews, and how clearly your pages state what you do and where you do it.
That is GEO, Generative Engine Optimization, and it is the part of this studio’s own practice that gets tested hardest, because we run it on ourselves first. Our own site is the working example: entity data that says one consistent thing, structured data on every page, and an llms.txt file that tells AI crawlers what they are looking at.
If you want to know what the assistants currently say about your business, ask us. That is the honest starting point for everything else on this page.
Where this work gets used
- ✓ Pacific Orthodontics: a downtown Seattle practice and a client for nearly ten years, currently running a search and AI-visibility improvement program with us.
- ✓ Spectrum Dermatology of Seattle: a boutique dermatology clinic whose Google listing we manage, alongside a site that has grown into a substantial e-commerce operation.
- ✓ Drew D. Pettus, Attorney at Law: an immigration practice in Bellingham whose Google Business Profile we manage.
- ✓ And this site, which we treat as the test bed: every claim we make about search and AI visibility here is a claim we have to be able to prove on our own pages first.

Questions we get asked
How long before SEO produces results? +
Months, not weeks, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. Technical fixes and listing corrections can move quickly, sometimes within days. Content and authority take longer: expect meaningful position changes in three to six months, and be suspicious of any agency that promises page one in thirty days.
Do you guarantee first-page rankings? +
No. Nobody can guarantee a position in a search engine they do not control, and a guarantee is usually a sign that the work is either trivial or being done against the wrong keywords. What we will commit to is telling you exactly what we changed, what it did, and where the remaining opportunity is, including when the honest answer is that you have already won what matters.
Do you do link building? +
Not in the sense of buying links or mass-submitting to directories. That is the fastest way to buy yourself a penalty. We earn links the slow way: real content that answers real questions, a business record that other sites can cite accurately, and the local relationships that produce genuine mentions. It is slower and it does not need to be undone later.
Is SEO worth it for a small local business? +
Usually, yes, but not always in the way people expect. For most South Sound businesses the largest win is not the website at all; it is the Google Business Profile, the accuracy of your listings and the reviews behind them, because that is what decides the map results. We will tell you if the clever campaign you asked for is not where your money should go.
We already rank well. Do we still need this? +
Ranking and being chosen are different problems. We look at what your site says when someone arrives, whether your structured data describes the business accurately, and what an AI assistant tells a customer who asks about you. A site that ranks ninth and converts is worth more than one that ranks first and explains nothing.
Do you work with businesses outside Olympia? +
Yes. Local search work is naturally local, but the technical and AI-search side travels fine. We have run search programs for clients in Seattle, King County, Skagit and Whatcom counties, and we work remotely as a matter of course.
